1. Black & White Film• Invented by Thomas Alva Adison (1847-1931)Born in Milan, Ohio.Pada age of 12 years he had worked as a newsman. Bought the money from the sale of books on electricity.•
Edison's first great invention was phonographic (1877), voice recording
tool to record sound that is written as a wave on a cylindrical tin
plated. Next
Edison switched to a practical way to produce light listrik.Pada Edison
dated 21-10-1879 passed an electrical discharge that has been
carbonised cotton thread.•
Towards the end of the century, Edison began experimenting with drawing
bergarak.Pada 1903, he managed to synchronize the sound of the
phonograph with a movie projector to produce the first sound film (black
and white films)2. Color film• Discovered by two professional musicians, Leopold Godowsky and Leopold the Mannes. Both
have a lot in common, other than their name, their father was a
classical musician terkanal: they were both studying at Riverdale High
School in New York, both of whom think music is more important than
anything else and they were so fascinated with the idea of making a
movie color photos.• The invention of color film begins with the discovery of James Clark Maxwell, the first time producing color images. He
uses three projectors, each projecting a different color from the same
image (red, green and blue). Projector directed to the same screen that
the paint overlap, creating a blurry picture, but color on the screen.• Godowsky and Mannes quickly realized the tremendous possibilities in the use of chemicals to create color film. Their
plan is to create a natural-looking color images using a chemical
coating is very thin (emulsion), separated by a layer of clear gelatin
thinner than the emulsion. Each emulsion layer will change to shades of a particular color, depending on the color photographed.•
They were asked to move to Rochester, New York, and use the laboratory
facilities that have full equipment of the research at Eastman Kodak. They
sing the song they were to measure the chemical reaction time in a
darkened laboratory (before there was a modern electronic timing device
and lighting photo darkroom).• In 1933 they were able to find a film that made the most excellent color photographs.
