This book contents knowledges about elements around us. It gives us basic information concerning some elements, beginning with the familiar and common elements in chemistry that perhaps often used in our life. This book almost explains about many important using of it. One of matter has discussed in chapter 10, is about Aluminium.
Aluminium is the third most common element on the surface of the earth over 7 percent. Oxygen and silicon are much more, but both are non metals, whereas aluminium is metal. Aluminium is in the soil in the form of aluminium silicates. It consists of aluminium, silicon and oxygen, with other common elements.
The most common rock is in the form of granite. It is made of three subtances : quartz, feldspar and mica. Feldspar and mica are aluminium silicates. Feldspar by the action of wind and weather can becomes clay. A pure kind of clay is used in manufacturing dishes and pots. All of us have eaten from dishes made of this pure clay. A general name for these product is ceramics. So we have first example of the uses that let us call aluminium as the element of the kitchen. Here, it is also mentioned about using of mica but I don’t understand what is the meaning of its using to make a  window in the door of a stove because heat doesn't damage the mica”?
Aluminium metals or compounds are so common and cheap which before it was more costly than silver and almost as costly as gold. It has been plentiful metal and many important uses have been discovered for it.
In the past, men uses stone to make weapons and buidings before using metals. Metal has the strength but heavier than stone. Whereas, aluminium combines the two things. It has the strength of metal and lightness of stone. For some things, lightness is more important than strength so it is much used. Example : in airplanes, automobiles, etc. Much more advantages of aluminium else that are mentioned in this book.
Aluminium doesn’t rust. Aluminium is an excellent metal for pots that are used in cooking. The aluminium becomes very hot very quickly. Aluminium is light, which makes cooking easier for women who work in the kitchen.
Concerning languanges used in this book, there is little words that I don't understand but it isn't problem because almost of all is simple and to be understood easily. Each chapter consists of matter that its pages isn’t thick. It doesn’t make reader difficult to understand  entire of its content. This book is a small book and can be used as basic reading to add our knowledges about somethings around you.
